The black floss really makes the design "pop!" I used these blocks to journey my 2009 travels -- embroidering on each block the name of the place I traveled while working on it. The finished blocks are placed on top of a beautiful black patterned wool and fastened with a herringbone embroidery stitch. Penny rug tabs surround the finished edge to make a 33" X 38" quilt that will looks great as a wall hanging or across the back of a sofa!
